Elizabeth E. Tomaszewicz

Chief Executive Officer

Elizabeth (Bette) Tomaszewicz, CEO, is a career entrepreneur, visionary, and leader in the corporate and K-12 training and eLearning industry for over 30 years. She has a strong track record as CEO, investor, and board member, improving market values and liquidity results for public and private companies in record time frames.

Having worked in the information technology industry, she began her career in the training industry as an Education Specialist at NetG (now SkillSoft) and moved into Executive leadership positions. She led the merger of the two largest players in the training industry, forming NetG with over $400 million in revenues.

Some of her leadership successes include:

  • Founder of PLATO (a K-12 eLearning company), and instrumental in taking it public (venture capital backed).
  • Founder, CEO and President of Teach.com, developing the first online streaming video eLearning products for the corporate world in areas such as leadership, sales, and PC training. Teach.com also developed one of the first LMS software systems. Teach was acquired by Ernst & Young. (venture capital backed)
  • Founder, CEO and President of Midi, Inc. – the first company in the Compliance and Ethics industry to develop a library of video-based eLearning products delivered over the internet as well as other innovative products. Midi was acquired by SAI Global. (venture capital backed).

Bette has been a Board Member/Investor in Plato, ITC Learning, Teach.com, Midi and GKIC. She also serves on the Advisory Board of OCA Ventures.

Doug Page, J.D.

VP Business Development

 As VP, Business Development, Doug uses his profound relationship building skills to identify and manage resellers, referral partners and forge new partnerships with  organizations where opportunities for mutual benefit exist. He also works tirelessly to build Syntrio’s brand and industry presence through inbound and outbound marketing initiatives and public relations efforts.

Prior to joining Syntrio in 1999, Doug practiced law in Vancouver working for the Civil Branch of the Ministry of the Attorney General of B.C. as well as for a small private litigation firm. He has a BA from the University of Ottawa and earned his LLB from University of British Columbia Law School. His personal interests include salt water fishing, hiking, road trips and weekends exploring San Francisco. 

Jonathan G. Gonzalez, Esq.

Sr. Counsel & Legal Content Advisor

Since 2007, Jonathan has practiced labor and employment law (exclusively on behalf of management). In addition to litigating (up to and including jury trial), individual plaintiff and class action discrimination, harassment, wage, and hour and other employment-specific cases; Jonathan has focused his practice toward advising employers on preventive practice.

Jonathan has presented over 100 live employment discrimination and harassment prevention (and other employment law related) training courses and has provided training manuals to clients with employees in all 50 states. Jonathan has drafted and presented legally compliant training manuals and presentations for clients ranging in size from two employees to Fortune 500 companies. All this allows Jonathan to maintain a keen knowledge of the employment laws throughout the country. Jonathan currently develops scenario-based interactive online training programs for clients of all sizes that are custom-tailored to meet the needs of that industry.

Jason Lunday

VP of Product Development and Advisory Services

Jason leads a team of developers to maintain and create new innovative ethics, compliance, employment law, and other related learning solutions as well as advisory services for Syntrio.  

Jason has worked in ethics and compliance for over twenty-five years. His work has spanned the business ethics and compliance spectrum, including assessing and strengthening corporate values initiatives, instituting leadership engagement efforts, developing and revising codes of conduct and policies, designing and implementing related procedures, developing monitoring systems, conducting risk, culture and program assessments and presenting to senior leadership and corporate directors.

Lunday has consulted with Fortune 500™ companies in industries such as financial services, communications, technology, defense, retail, industrial, healthcare and oil & gas. Jason has previously worked in ethics/compliance positions at Goldman, Sachs & Co., Arthur Andersen LLP, Premier, Inc., VeriSign, Inc., the Ethics Resource Center and as an independent consultant.

Lunday has authored or co-authored over thirty articles that have been published in Compliance & Ethics Professional, Corporate Compliance Insights, ethikos: A Journal of Practical Business Ethics, Ivey Business Journal, the Federal Ethics Report, EPAC Magazine (Ethics Practitioners’ Association of Canada), The Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics’ 2009 Compliance and Ethics Forum Summary Report and the International Business Ethics Institute’s Comprehensive Guide to Developing an Effective Global Business Conduct Program. He also has co-authored business case studies focused on ethics issues and has presented at SCCE and ECOA conferences.

Jason received his MBA from the Darden Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia, with a focus in business ethics and organizational behavior, and a BA also from the University of Virginia.

Denise Stana

Regional VP of Sales

A sales leader with twenty-five years proven track record in developing and executing business strategies to create product differentiation and launch innovative solutions that anticipate customer’s needs.  Denise is focusing on driving market share gains through acquisition of Fortune 1000 accounts.  Her background includes extensive experience in SaaS/Cloud, Software, Legal, and Banking as well as Mobility & Web-Based Technology.  Recognized as a creative, hands on, results-driven leader with the ability to manage change and break down complex business problems into tangible business solutions.  

Prior to joining Syntrio, Denise held sales leadership roles at WoltersKluwer, as well as at other ethics and compliance, risk management organizations.  She is located in our Dallas region and has enjoyed living in TX for 20 years.  Denise attended the University of Pittsburgh and is a huge fan of the City of Champions, her hometown.

Madan Joshi

General Manager - India Operations

As General Manager of our Operations in Pune, India, Madan is responsible for leading and overseeing technical development efforts at our off shore development center where he has built a dynamic and enterprising team of technology solution experts to meet Syntrio's growing business needs.

Madan has over 15 years of experience in the design and development of Internet-based applications and has led Syntrio’s product development efforts for nearly a decade. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. In his free time, Madan enjoys trekking in the Sahyadris and playing Cricket.

Shankar Balasubramanian

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

As CTO, Shankar plays the critical role of designing, engineering, administering and maintaining Syntrio’s systems and products. With vast technical expertise and over 15 years of experience in IT systems and product engineering, Shankar balances the dual role of ensuring that Syntrio’s software applications, hardware, networks, and systems are robust and stable while also understanding evolving technologies and translating technological advances into IT strategy and design for the future.

Shankar holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Tech University. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Shankar is an avid sports fan: NBA, NFL, and Tennis. He also loves playing tennis, squash, and basketball, running on the beach and hiking in the Grand Canyon.

Victor Shepherd

Director, Client Success Center

Working with Syntrio clients over the past 15 years, Victor has a wealth of experience in troubleshooting, client support, client setups and responding to client needs for both the LMS and courseware. His background in Information Technology (IT) in both corporate and consumer environments is responsible for his familiarity with all types of computer hardware, networks, and operating systems.  He is proficient in understanding and being able to communicate with both clients and IT personnel.

Victor has earned vocational certification for data center computer operations, procedural programming languages, MS Office products and project management. He enjoys building his own computers based on the latest hardware and software technologies. On weekends, he enjoys time socializing with friends and family.

Terri Knowles

Director of Sales

With over 20 years of sales and leadership experience, Terri has extensive knowledge of lead generation, sales processes, and customer service. Terri is responsible for implementing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand Syntrio’s ever growing client base. She is adept at building customer relationships and understanding their individual needs to insure their online learning solution meets their organization’s training needs.

Terri graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a BA in Human Resources Management. She enjoys spending time with her husband and twin children along with participating and organizing school and community functions.

Darin Hartley

Director of Marketing

With over 25 years of corporate training, sales, marketing,  and writing experience, Darin is responsible for providing strategic marketing support to drive leads,  reinforce Syntrio's brand, and attract new clients.  As a published author and with a unique mix of practitioner and supplier roles, Darin can craft messages, which will resonate with most prospects and clients.  Darin works closely with all business units in the organization.

Darin graduated from Idaho State University with a BS in Corporate Training and an M.Ed. in Training Management.  Darin has published four books in the field of corporate training and is a CPLP Fellow.  He is a US Navy Veteran and a rabid Miami Dolphin fan.

John Cowan

Director of LMS Services

As Director of LMS Services John ensures that clients have the knowledge they need to implement Syntrio LMS systems effectively. John manages and consults for large client accounts, from needs assessment to closing sales, to implementation across the enterprise. John is Syntrio's knowledge expert and LMS specialist, managing the education and management process for rollouts of the Syntrio LMS. This includes conducting seminars, presentations for both sales and service, creating and managing help and documentation. With 20 years of experience in consulting, application expertise, and customer service, John works with Syntrio clients and prospects, so that clients can utilize Syntrio products to their fullest potential.

John holds a BA from Fresno State. Outside of his professional responsibilities, John actively engages in triathlon training. In the winter John is often found in Tahoe skiing. In San Francisco, John’s enjoys hiking in the beautiful SF Bay Area, enjoying friends and the many other activities the city has to offer.

Kaylyn Woodhall

Director of Finance

Kaylyn Woodhall is the Finance Director for Syntrio.  She works closely with the CEO and other Syntrio staff members to manage all aspects of financial analysis, operations, planning, and reporting.  Her diverse background in the accounting field is invaluable to the Syntrio team as she diligently manages, Accounts Payable and Receivables, e-commerce, SaaS revenue recognition, as well as HR and Payroll functions.  Her “can do,” “lean forward,” attitude aligns perfectly with Syntrio’s culture.
